The
King West district extends west from Bathurst over to Shaw Street. The
area has a long history dating back to the late 1700’s when it
was part of the military garrison for the Town of York, now Toronto.
Originally thought to be
‘far west’ of the downtown core, condos first developed at
the Summit just west of Bathurst and, over about 20 years have extended
further west.
The whole neighbourhood has
now become a vibrant area of lofts, townhomes, single family homes and
high-rise suites.
There are lots of restaurants,
pubs, art galleries and easy downtown access via the King or Queen streetcars.
Now it doesn’t seem so ‘far west’ anymore!
